This Poconos cottage renovation focused on creating a warm, welcoming getaway for families seeking comfort, style, and a connection to the surrounding woods. While the structure had potential, the interior felt dated and mismatched, and the outdoor spaces weren’t being used to their full potential. The goal was to bring harmony and warmth to the inside while turning the exterior into a truly enjoyable retreat for every season.

PRIMARY BEDROOM - Calm, Bright, and Perfectly Balanced

The primary bedroom was redesigned to feel like a true sanctuary. Soft lighting, warm wood tones, and layered textiles created a space that feels calm and elevated without losing the cozy charm of a cottage. Blue drapery frames the windows and adds contrast while maintaining serenity. Two accent chairs by the window create a relaxing reading area bathed in natural light. The overall feel is airy, inviting, and intentionally styled to help guests unwind.

SECONDARY BEDROOM - Sunlit Comfort With Woodland Views

The second bedroom is bright and relaxed, with sunlight pouring through the large windows. Neutral bedding, soft green curtains, rattan lamps, and distressed-wood nightstands bring in a natural, laid-back aesthetic. The fall foliage visible from the windows enhances the cottage atmosphere, making this room feel especially peaceful. Every element was chosen to feel clean, uncluttered, and soothing.

KITCHEN - Functional and Open With a Clear Outdoor Connection

The kitchen received a thoughtful refresh that enhanced its usability without requiring a structural overhaul. Updated lighting, warm-toned flooring, and new decorative elements helped unify the space visually. The sliding doors open directly to the updated deck, making the kitchen feel twice as large during warm months. This seamless indoor–outdoor flow became a defining quality of the cottage.

DINING ROOM - Elevated Comfort With Warm Coastal Touches

The dining room blends cottage charm with subtle coastal undertones. White wainscoting brightened the room, creating contrast with the warm wall color. A glass-top dining table paired with woven chairs keeps the space feeling open while adding texture. Built-in boat-shaped shelves became playful focal points, giving the room personality without overwhelming the design. The dining room now feels warm, intimate, and perfect for family meals or long conversations over wine.

OUTDOOR SPA DECK - A Forest Retreat Reimagined

The outdoor deck became one of the cottage’s most dramatic transformations. A pergola above the recessed hot tub created a natural, private spa atmosphere. The mixed wood textures, privacy screens, string lights, and hanging chair add warmth and charm. A sectional seating area turns the deck into a true outdoor living room where guests can relax, entertain, or simply listen to the woods at night. This new space makes the cottage feel like a year-round escape.

GARAGE GAME ROOM - Full Family Entertainment Zone

The garage was completely reimagined as a dedicated game room. Bright yellow walls, sports-themed décor, arcade machines, foosball, and a full pool table create a lively, playful environment. Artificial turf flooring adds durability and a fun, unconventional texture. This space now functions as a weather-proof entertainment hub that dramatically increases the value and usability of the home for families and short-term guests alike.
